چکیده

Abstract Herbicide resistance is a worldwide problem in weed control. This prompts researchers to look for new modes of action slow down the evolution herbicide-resistant weeds. research aims determine herbicidal thiazolo[3,2-a]pyrimidines derivatives, which are well known as antihypertensive drugs. The phytotoxic effects ten compounds were investigated using leaf disc discoloration test and seed germination bioassay. At concentrations 125 250 mg/L, 5-(3-Fluoro-phenyl)-7-methyl-5H-thiazolo[3,2-a]pyrimidine-6-carboxylic acid ethyl ester ( c ) was highly active against Oldenlandia verticillata Eleusine indica . application rates 1.25 2.5 kg ai/ha, formulated demonstrated selective post-emergence pre-emergence activity O. , E. Cyperus iria In crop tolerance test, outperformed commercial herbicide diuron, with aerobic Oryza sativa being most tolerant, followed by Zea mays Brassica rapa addition calcium chloride partially nullified compound 's inhibitory on shoot growth, indicating that it has potential channel blocker. Compound acted triggering electrolyte leakage without affecting photosystem II. These findings imply could be explored further template developing herbicides novel action.

Herbicidal properties of antimalarial drugs

The evolutionary relationship between plants and the malarial parasite Plasmodium falciparum is well established and underscored by the P. falciparum apicoplast, an essential chloroplast-like organelle. As a result of this relationship, studies have demonstrated that herbicides active against plants are also active against P. falciparum and thus could act as antimalarial drug leads. Here we sho...

The role of calcium channel blockers in wound healing

Wound healing is a natural response to restore the injured tissue to normal. Wound healing is also complicated process involving different cellular, molecular and biochemical mechanisms and various types of cytokines and growth factors. Calcium channel blockers belong to cardiovascular medicine and administrated to treatment of hypertension, angina and cardiac arrhythmia because of vasodilatory...

Effect of Calcium Channel Blockers on Intraocular Pressure in Rabbits

The objective of the study was to evaluate the antiglaucoma effect of calcium channel blockers diltiazem and verapamil. Albino rabbits were used and chronic glaucoma was induced in them using freshly prepared 150 units of alphachymotrypsin. 0.1 mL of drug solution was administered topically into the left eye whereas the right served as control. The pressure recording was carried out at 15, 30, ...

61: Calcium Channel Blockers

In 1964, Albretch Fleckenstein described an inhibitory action ofverapamil and prenylamine on excitation-contraction coupling that was similar to calcium depletion. By the late 1970s, the clinical use of calcium channel blockers (CCBs) was widely accepted for variety of cardiovascular indications, including hypertension, dysrhythmias, and angina. Later indications, including Raynaud phenomenon, ...
